My name is Dana Leigh Snyder. I’m a fitness instructor. I teach every Monday-Friday at 10am (EST), online. I also offer in-person classes and stretch sessions (in NYC).
“fitness instructor”? Is that like a trainer?
Kind of. A trainer is more like a director: working one-on-one, overseeing all aspects of your work (weight, diet, workouts, etc.). I’m like the choreographer: working with solos or groups, designing engaging workouts for you to enjoy. No weigh-ins with me!
I like the sound of that! but what are your classes like?
My style is a little bit of Jane Fonda, a little High-Intensity-Interval-Training, some choreographed exercises, a bit of strength and mobility, and some killer core workouts. And STRETCH. Lot’s of stretch.
Well how much do you charge?
Fitness is for everyone, no matter your age, athletic ability, income, or feelings about Julia Roberts’ laugh. Which is why all of my online classes are on a pay-what-you-can basis, as well as sliding scale, in-person sessions.
are you famous?
Yes.
Come workout with me!

OH HI!
It’s me, Dana. Your instructor. Just a girl who lives in Brooklyn with her guy and some fluffy cats. I have been teaching fitness for a long time. I also really like cats, a lot. If you prefer reading bios in the third-person, please read on…
BIO
Dana Leigh Snyder holds a certificate in Exercise Physiology from Stanford University (extension), a certificate in Plant-Based Nutrition from Cornell (extension), a BA in dance from UC Davis, an MFA from the New School, and is trained in TRX and Active Isolated Stretch. She studied under dancer and fitness pro Pepper Von (National Aerobic Fitness Champion), Lea Anderson (artistic director of The Cholmondeleys and The Featherstonehaughs), and Bobbi Wynn Bolden (professor of Dance, UC Davis).
Originally from Sacramento, Dana began her fitness career at age 5, with Jazzercise. Her performance of “Ghostbusters” was featured on KCRA News where she wowed the audience with her jazz/fitness impression of Dr. Peter Venkman. This taste of high-energy dance fitness led to a 4-year cheerleading career that included basic tumbling, throwing people in the air and catching them, and collecting spirit sticks. She then spent the next 2 years teaching dance and cheer to teenagers, auditioning for pro sports dance teams, and taking pictures with various NBA players, before pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Dance and Theatre. After graduating, she moved to NYC in to pursue her Master’s Degree, teach fitness, and run her own children’s modern dance and theatre program (URBAN WILDLIFE ARTS). Dana has been teaching fitness in NYC since 2008.
I’m so profesh!
